I don’t think anybody will find any surprises in the supplements, but the old supplements still hold up and really get into great detail about the film’s production. It's a masterpiece that has thankfully stood the test of time, and still manages to terrify audiences new and old almost 40 years after it first rose from the depths onto our screens.

Jaws' marks a major and significantly momentous point in the history of cinema and filmmaking, whether as a general movie-going experience or as an interest for academic study. They are collected instead here, for Blu-ray owners, but still missing several others from the 25th Anniversary disc. And if you haven't seen the film yet, you really haven't experienced classic popcorn cinema at its very finest. minutes of gushing over Steven Spielberg and how the movie Jaws inspired so many directors to get into film and so many effects artists to pursue film making. As one of the most anticipated titles to hit Blu-ray, Spielberg's classic film arrives with a spectacular, reference-quality audio and video presentation that will more than satisfy movie lovers everywhere.

Lots of noteworthy interview snippets wraps up this epic 10 part documentary compiled over the course of thirty years. Directed by Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg, Jaws set the standard for edge-of-your seat suspense quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon and forever changing the movie industry. For starters, there's a few documentaries missing from this release, including a BBC documentary, In the Teeth of Jaws, and a History Channel documentary, Jaws: A True Story. Consumer Products by Snow Commerce, which is soley responsible for the site's content and all aspects of your purchase. Mobile-To-Go: Users can unlock a selection of bonus content with their Blu-ray discs to save to their device or to stream from anywhere there is a Wi-Fi network, enabling them to enjoy content on the go, anytime, anywhere. I come from the Bogside in Derry of Northern Ireland and I had absolutely no idea what a shark was, no concept at all - my brother Paddy, told me it was like a goldfish that was grey, that it was about the size of a bus and that it had rows of teeth the size of steak knives, oh yeah, and it also could bite a man clear in half below the waist - Yikes! Browse Titles: Users will have access to a complete list of pocket BLU-enabled titles available and coming to Blu-ray.

Of course, I checked the quality on my TV too, and I was no less impressed, so there's very little to complain about picture wise.I have seen Jaws in many incarnations : broadcast TV, taped-off-TV, widescreen VHS, DVD, ancient 35mm print, brand new digital print, and now Blu-ray. I was very quickly quieted when I suddenly found myself enveloped in a rich lather of glorious uncompressed silky ocean spume. A marine biologist from the Oceanographic Institute, Matt Hooper arrives at Amity Island to help track the rogue shark. It’s not until the end, when the shark tries to break through the boat, where I felt the track goes a little overboard with all sorts of objects crashing about, the track’s volume levels reaching incredibly high levels, and so on. up-mix from the original stereo audio track is excellent, and I must say, being something of a traditionalist, I was apprehensive about the fact that there was only 2 channels of audio to play with from the original film, and that an up-mix would have to consist of new sound designers creating new sound effects.

While Spielberg has recently taken a hardline on reworking or tinkering with his classics, it would have been neat to see that version in HD, via branching technology. There is more point in lauding this disc though, as Universal’s Blu-ray release of Jaws is impeccable. But here, where I suspect a newer recording of the score was used and some sound effects may have been newly recorded, everything blends nicely with the original voice recordings. Filled with eye-witness accounts and an immeasurable insight into the production, The Jaws Log is a great look into how a film gets made, troubles and all. It sounds to be pretty much a whole new remix as sound effects during many of the action sequences do sound a little different. The transfer might wind up a topic of debate for some, but it is better than any previous available version of Jaws on home video. And while these tools do a remarkable job cleaning the image up, it's hard to fix something that's internally broken. Hat's off to Universal here, they deserve credit for not getting too carried away and ruining an audio track I loved. Directed by Academy Award® winner° Steven Spielberg, Jaws set the standard for edge-of-your-seat suspense, quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon and forever changing the movie industry.
